  1. Thanks for the mention, Jana. I'm really loving your Fab Finds...I'm finding some really interesting links!

    1. Hi Heather,

You're very welcome! I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Jana, it's an honor to be one of your mentions today! Thanks for the support! Every week, I look forward to reading your suggestions. Glad to be one of them!

    1. Hi Smadar,

You're quite welcome! Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  3. I must echo Heather. I always find a great tip or good kick in the pants. Thanks for the mention.

    1. Hi Wendy,

You're very welcome! A kick in the pants? You're so funny!

Thanks for stopping by Wendy. I always enjoy your comments.

  4. Thanks, Jana! I've been busy lately and haven't been keeping up with my Google Alerts. Apparently, I've been a topic of interest Down Under. LOL.

    1. Hi Caroline,

You're very welcome! Thanks for your informative post.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  5. Jana, glad to see you posted some articles on awards and SEO. Timely subject, and something we all as a community need to think through. Awards are fun...but time consuming to participate in. The question of hidden agendas adds a dark side to the mix.

At any rate, we as a blogging community don't need to wait for a prompt to "award" recognition to those we appreciate. You do it every Friday! :)

The rest of us can certainly follow suit in whatever manner best fits each of our own blogs.

    1. Hi Jacqi,

Yes, I've struggled with the whole awards thing myself. I'm very flattered and thankful for the recognition but as you said, there's the time involved in paying the honor forward. Plus, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not recognizing their blog. And then there's the potential SEO problem too.

So, yes, I think it may be time for the genealogy blogging community to think through the topic of blog awards.

Thank you for your comments Jacqi!

  6. Wow, such diverse and fascinating reading! Thanks for including my blog in your list, Jana!

    1. Hi Linda,

You're very welcome! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. And thanks for stopping by!

  7. G'day Jana, thanks so much for mentioning my post "TO AWARD OR NOT TO AWARD???..." This is both a huge surprise and a great honour. I'm sure you're not aware that your "Wonderful Team Readership Award" initially came from me :-) in that after receiving it from J.G.Burdette, I passed it onto Yvonne up there in Canada, and she passed it onto you. Such a small world, eh? You can read about it on this link: Thanks again... Best of wishes, Catherine.

    1. Hi Catherine,

You're very welcome for the mention! And yes, it certainly is a small world. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  8. Jana, you are most obviously a great reader of more than my blog! I stopped by to let you know that I've given you the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award. I forgot that you'd already received it. I suppose this means you don't have to write another post about it, just accept my gratitude for your continued support in both reading and commenting on my blog posts. (You can read my post at if you'd like.)

    1. Hi Nancy,

You're so sweet! Thank you for the recognition. I really do appreciate it.
