After looking further at Ebenezer's pension file, I realized that the Draft Record above was from 1863, and Ebenezer served in the Civil War for a short time in 1862 and was discharged because of health issues. Thanks for the heads up and for the tip. I didn't realize that the soldiers could come and go when necessary. Evidently soldiers could just come and go when necessary such as to take care of the farm or handle personal matters.
