My sides grew really high, but not center so much. It was really good, next time I'll have fruit ready for it
Jeanne Bryan Insalacohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04199669886414029814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639808443739233405.post-39934328586306443242015-12-15T22:42:26.349-08:002015-12-15T22:42:26.349-08:00Oooh! The first time (and probably only time) I was served Yorkshire Pudding, I was a teenager. I didn't realize it was supposed to be eaten with the dinner. Haha! :)Jana Iverson Lasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07687969613629975601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639808443739233405.post-55587417829192366912015-12-15T22:35:50.220-08:002015-12-15T22:35:50.220-08:00How fun Anna! And it is done in a cast iron frying pan.

We do either a squeeze of lemon juice and powdered sugar. OR bake sliced apples with a cinnamon/sugar mixture first in the pan and then add/cook the pancake batter on top. It still puffs up perfectly. The apple version is served flipped onto a large dinner plate or platter with a dash of powdered sugar.

Yum.goneresearchinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13425490218424236491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639808443739233405.post-46278186804179989512015-12-14T08:11:46.377-08:002015-12-14T08:11:46.377-08:00Those pancakes look delicious. Not many of my American friends know what Yorkshire Pudding is. I have never had it sweet, always savory. We use drippings from a roast instead of butter, which we put in the pan and put the pan in a hot oven (450) until it smokes, then quickly add the batter. The other difference is that we measure the eggs, then use the same amount of flour and milk (a trick I recently learned). We sometimes make it in one pan, and other times in muffin tins which is when I make lots and the next day have "stuffed yorkies", which is thinly sliced roast and gravy stuffed into a yorkie muffin.
I usually make them with every roast, just half the recipe when its just my XY and me.
Another thing we do is put cooked sausages in the pan then pour the batter over and voila! "Toad in the Hole". A great supper served with steamed veggies.
I will have to take a walk on the sweet side!! Thanks Jana! I'll have to compare the recipes but yours look like what I've read hers are supposed to look like. We're going to try her recipe on New Years Day. Merry Christmas!
