"The Traveling Dentist" ~ A New Ancestor Landing Page

Watson (Fred) Emory Webster 600dpi Photoshopped

Everything you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask about "The Traveling Dentist" is now at your fingertips and in one place.

Yep, my great-grandfather, Watson Emory (Frederick) Webster, affectionately referred to as "The Traveling Dentist" has his own Ancestor Landing Page on my blog.

Want to see a photo of the Webster Dental Boat or the Webster Photo Boat?  How about a photo of a shark hanging in front of the Webster Dental Boat?  You can access all of that and more by checking out The Traveling Dentist's Ancestor Landing Page.

But wait!  There's more!

Did you know that Watson was an inventor?  Yep!  He was!  You can check out a copy of the Patent that was awarded to Watson in 1899.  And his D.D.S. Degree from 1896.    All you have to do is click The Traveling Dentist's Ancestor Landing Page to check these out, as well as other interesting photos and stories about Watson Emory (Frederick) Webster, a.k.a. "The Traveling Dentist."

Thanks for reading!

  2. In that photo, he has a very young-looking face despite the receding hairline. And he looks very intelligent too. Of course, he had to have been, right?

    1. Hi Wendy,

You're right. He does have a rather young-looking face in that photo, doesn't he? He graduated with his D.D.S. degree in 1896 and that was from a college in Kansas City, Missouri. I notice the photo was taken in Kansas City, Missouri, so if this was a graduation photo, then Watson would have been around 32 years old when this photo was taken. Interesting.

Thanks for causing me to figure this out Wendy!

  4. Agreed that this is a wonderful idea -- to showcase an ancestor like this. All of one's ancestors are important and interesting, but some just demand a little more interest and attention. Nicely done Jana!

  5. Great idea. The photo looks like it could have been taken recently because it is so very clear.

    1. Hi Colleen,

Yes, that photo is amazingly clear for how old it is.

As for the Ancestor Landing Page idea, I can't take credit for it. In the comments above, I shared the link to Caroline Pointer's blog post where she shared her idea for an Ancestor Landing Page for one of her ancestors.
